Gunshot Heard in Thornton Heath
Man taken to hospital after gunshot was heard in Thornton Heath
Story by Daniel O'Mahony
On Friday 6th November 2015, a man was reportedly taken to hospital after a shooting apparently took place in Beulah Road, Thornton Heath.
At the time of 13:29pm, ambulance services and armed police were called to Beulah Road after reports of a gunshot were received.
A man in his late 30s was found with a minor injury which was taken care of by Paramedics as the man was escorted to a South London hospital where he is still currently stationed.
A Metropolitan Police spokeswoman said:
"Detectives are investigating the shooting, although no arrests have been made."
A photographer from the Croydon Guardian said a police cordon has been set up outside 'Allsorts Newsagents' in Beulah Road, which still had forensic officers at the scene at the time of 17:00pm on Friday Evening.
What do I think of this article?
In my opinion, I think this article stands out from the others on the Croydon Guardian website because the heading of the news story is eye-catching simply because of the word 'gunshot'.
I think this because it is highly unusual for this type of crime to be committed in South London and England itself as there is a low rate of gun use in the country.
Additionally, it also alerts the public that even though the use of guns in the country and the Croydon Borough is low, we should still be alert that these type of crimes and actions can still be committed.
