Approximately around the time of 15:30pm, Police Officers and Fire Services were called to the reports of a suspicious package at Addiscombe Road near East Croydon Station.

Public transport services such as Trams were suspended between Reeves Corner and Sandilands whilst buses were diverted soon after the discovery. However, trains were not affected.

Alongside Police Officers were also sniffer dogs to help with the investigation of the package.

A Policeman from the Metropolitan said it had been called to Addiscombe Road, at the junction of Colson Road.

Commuters had took to social media to descrive rush-hour "chaos".

TFL (Transport For London) said all routes serving Addiscombe Road and Cherry Orchard Road were being delayed and diverted due to a "subject to diversion and delays due to a police incident".

Additionally, a London Fire Brigade spokesman said it had been called at 4:10pm and was "assisting police" during this time.

However, it confirmed at the time of 17:10pm by the Metropolitan Police that it had been allowed for roads to be re-open.

What do I think about this article?

In my opinion, I believe that this article is very informative for the Croydon Guardian readers and the public because it give off information about a very serious issue which could've potentially did harm to the public if not taken care of or noticed in fast time.
