In the last three months of 2015, Twitter has failed to rise the number of active Twitter users. According to the latest financial earnings, it announces that the monthly active users remains at 320 million users with the analysts predicting that the figure will rise to 323 million users.
However in comparison, Twitter's rival social network, Facebook has over 1.5 billion users and recently reported financial earning of their own.
The lack of growth in user numbers has plunged the social network into crisis in recent months.
Mr. Dorsey (the Co-Founder) returned to the company whilst approximately 8% of the company's staff was cut.

However, the report of their latest financial results, shows that the company remained defiant that it would continue to grow.
Twitter's Report shows and tells us:
“We saw a decline in monthly active usage in Q4, but we've already seen January monthly actives bounce back to Q3 levels, we're confident that, with disciplined execution, this growth trend will continue over time”
However, analytics are concerned for the future of the site.
This is further discussed by Walter Price (from the global investment firm from Allianz) who says:
“I think Twitter is in a crisis and could be entering the internet graveyard that is populated by many other small internet properties that are used by people and have value to their users but are no longer growth companies."
Following on from what Mr. Price said, Twitter adds that they have 'five priorities' for 2016, including one of them being to deal with the "confusing" aspects of the site such as how users can reply to messages publically and more directly using the site's existing rules. Another one of the priorities including, improving live streaming video options, as well as making the site safer were also named as key areas of focus for the company in the coming year.
What Do I think about this article?
In my opinion, I think this article is very informative and appealing to audiences of people who are active Twitter users and also people who have signed up for Twitter. I also think this article appeals to people who are on social networks because it mentions changes which can potentially affect users online. These changes include improving live streaming. As a active Twitter myself, I was drawn to this article as the headline was eye-catching to me.
