Harlesden shooting |
The shooting of a man which took place in North-West London is being treated as a case of 'mistaken identity'.
The young man who was believed to be in his 20s, was unfortunately pronounced dead at the scene.
It has been reported by Det Ch Insp Mark Lawson that the gun attack which took place on Wednesday night (9th March) is being investigated as gun related.
It has also been said by Det Ch Insp Mark Lawson that: "The victim had been shot multiple times and that an automatic weapon appeared to have been used."
In addition to this, he added the following:
"At this very early stage in the investigation, we are exploring that the shooting was gang related, however I am satisfied the victim was not the intended target and this was a tragic case of mistaken identity."
Officers were instantly aware of the situation as the news of the event circulated on social media sites. They have called for anyone to come forward if they have any information.
It is believed that the killer had got out of a dark hatchback car before returning to the vehicle after the shooting.
The victim's family has been informed, but formal identification will not take place until after a post-mortem examination.
What do I think about this article?
In my opinion, I think this is very unfortunate of what happen to the young man if it is a case of 'mistaken identity' or not as murder isn't acceptable. I also think this alerts and reinforces the public of the dangers of everyday life as you just don't know what the next day will bring.
